Cooperation with Geneva's Institut de hautes études

Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, Washington DC (INECE),
it was
coordinated by the Faculty of Law's Professor Anne Petitpierre:
Technology Transfer, Trade, and the Environment: Promoting
Synergy for Sustainable Development among the World Trade
Organization and Multilateral Environmental Agreements
This program has concluded its activities
with a Conference organized by the Faculty of Law and IHEID on
January 24, 2008. The morning session featured the Environmental
Goods and Services (EGS) negotiations under the Doha Development
Agenda Para. 31(iii). In the afternoon a Roundtable took place with the participation of
staff members of the Convention Secretariats, UNEP
Chemicals, UNEP-DGEF, and the Swiss Federal Office of the
Environment.
An earlier Informal
Roundtable Discussion on these Environmental Goods Negotiations
organized by the same project partners on March 14, 2007, was
attended mostly by trade negotiators from the Permanent Mission.
Links for these
events are provided above, some project
documents are presently being finalized.
